Woods\, PhD\, serves as the inaugural Chair of the Department of Medical Education in the John Sealy School of Medicine at UTMB Health.\n\n \n\nDr. Woods joined UTMB in 2015 as Assistant Dean and Director of Educational Development in the School of Medicine and became Associate Dean for Educational Affairs in 2018. She was promoted to her current position as Vice Dean for Academic Affairs in late 2020\, after serving ad interim since 2019.\n\n \n\nDr. Woods has devoted her career to the development  and implementation of best practices in education. Her recent efforts are related to the delivery of high-quality medical education\, and she collaborates with schools of higher education both nationally and internationally to develop robust\, consistent education systems.  Dr. Woods holds a PhD in educational psychology from Baylor University\, as well as a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in education from Baylor.\n\n \n\nAs the inaugural Chair of the Department of Medical Education\, she focuses on growing and supporting excellence in academic faculty development\, mentoring\, and scholarship\, working closely with the Vice President and Chief Research Officer\, Department Chairs\, Institute and Center Directors\, and other leaders to achieve these results.\n\n \n\nJoin us at the September meeting of the Women in Business group to hear more about how Dr. Woods is driving change and shaping business and education through innovation\, collaboration\, and a more equitable future.
