DESCRIPTION:The smell of cajun boiled shrimp\, the lure of cold beer on a hot summer evening\, and the energizing sounds of live music will fill the air at the Texas City-La Marque Chamber's annual Shrimp Boil on Friday\, August 20\, at Nessler Park in Texas City. The fun will begin at 6:00 p.m. around the Rotary Pavilion.\n\n\n\nThe Shrimp Boil is a favorite tradition of the community that has been held for more than 40 years. Young and old and everyone in between agree\, the Shrimp Boil is a night to relax and have a good time while visiting with colleagues\, friends and neighbors.\n\n\n\nThe live music for the evening will feature an Acoustic Duo from Nick and the Groove and the band Nervous Rex.\n\n\n\nTickets are $25 in advance and can be purchased at the Chamber office\, at Texas First Bank on Palmer Highway\, or online here (click the "Register" button).  Tickets are $30 per person on event day.\n\n\n\nThe ticket price includes a shrimp dinner with corn on the cob\, potatoes\, jambalaya\, water\, soft drinks and live musical entertainment. Beer will be available for purchase.  Hot dog meals will also be available for kids for $5. Meals are served from 6:00pm until 7:30pm.  The music will continue until 10pm.\n\n\n\nSponsors include: Del Papa Distributing\, Dow\, Marathon\, AMOCO Federal Credit Union\, Dunn Heat Exchangers\, Texas First Bank\, Valero\, City of Texas City and Eastman. Other contributors include ACU of Texas\, HCA Houston Healthcare Mainland\, Hospitality Health ER\, the Texas City Jaycees\, the Golden Division\, and Rotary Club of Texas City.
