Speaker Background:
Martha Livanec is Director of Patient Services at UTMB Health in Galveston, Texas. With more than 25 years of progressive experience in academic healthcare and professional services, she is an agent for programmatic change throughout the health system and leads a collaborative team dedicated to improving the patient experience through volunteer, patient, language, and pastoral care services. 

Martha brings a unique blend of business savvy, experience and strategic thinking to her work. Her background includes recruiting, training, employee relations, performance management and leadership development. She is an experienced coach on improving patient and employee satisfaction. Martha formerly led human resources for the accounting firm of Bennett-Thrasher in Atlanta, managed recruitment and resource management programs at PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Martha obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree from Hollins University, studying both in Roanoke, Virginia, and in Paris, France. Dedicated to public service, Martha is involved in numerous civic and charitable activities.
