Doreen Hughes

Speaker Background:
Doreen Hughes is a connector at heart and believes in building relationships based on the ability to communicate with integrity and trust.

Her fifteen years with Dell was a masterclass in communication, self-confidence, and relationship building.  In 2008, Doreen left Dell to become an entrepreneur and founded Mainland Testing Center, the first full-service occupational wellness clinic in Galveston County.  The company became a certified Port of Houston vendor, won state and federal service contracts, and was named an Emerging 10 Company and a winner of the BBB Pinnacle Award.  In her business plan, the exit strategy was to sell the company, which she did in 2018.

In August 2019, she became a licensed realtor and found her passion for helping others achieve their American dream of home ownership.  Doreen is a member of the Coldwell Banker/TGRE Brokerage in Galveston. 

She is also a columnist with Galveston Daily News, “Out and About with Doreen,” and a certified John Maxwell coach, teaching leadership at College of the Mainland.   Doreen has served on the board of numerous organizations, is an active member of the Texas City-La Marque Chamber and the Rotary Club.
