Get ready to experience the most exciting event of the season! The Daily News Press Run is proud to present the 2024 Press Run+ Shrimp Fest, in collaboration with The Texas City – La Marque Chamber of Commerce. Mark your calendar for Saturday, May 18th, and join us on Downtown 6th Street in Texas City for an unforgettable day. The event starts with a scenic route along historic Bay Street and Texas City Dike, where runners from all over the county will participate in the Press Run. The race ends at the iconic Showboat, where the Shrimp Fest awaits you! Imagine a 2-block area filled with music, vendors, kids' activities, and of course, mouth-watering shrimp. It's the perfect way to spend your day with family and friends. 
 
But that's not all! The Daily News Press Run supports the Newspaper in Education program as part of this long-standing family event. By participating, you'll not only have a great time, but you'll also be supporting a great cause. All participating runners will receive a $10 coupon to purchase their shrimp meal. The event ends at 6:30 p.m., so make sure you join us early to experience all the fun. We can't wait to see you there!

There will be zesty Cajun boiled shrimp and jambalaya, cold drinks, kids zone, shopping and live music! This 40+ year favored community event is attended by young, old and everyone in between. Shrimp Fest is a event to relax and have a good time at while visiting with colleagues, friends and neighbors.

Shrimp Fest Activities Include:

• Zesty Cajun boiled shrimp and jambalaya, Catered by Bergeron Crawfish Catering (Presale tickets, $30, includes a one pound shrimp dinner, jambalaya, corn on the cob and potatoes, 2 beers provided by Del Papa Distributing. Soft drinks will be provided by request.)
• Kid Zone featuring bounce houses
