Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management

• A minimum of a master’s degree in a related field.
• At least five years of progressively responsible leadership in enrollment, admissions, student retention, academic advisement, financial aid or related fields.
• Strong knowledge of higher education market and societal trends affecting student recruitment and enrollment.

• Doctorate in Higher Education Leadership or related field.

• Comprehensive understanding of student development theory, enrollment management best practices, and student success strategies within a community college context.

• In-depth knowledge of the unique needs and challenges of community college students, including diverse academic backgrounds, socioeconomic statuses, and goals.

• Strong understanding of federal and state regulations related to higher education, financial aid, student privacy (FERPA), and disability services (ADA/Section 504).

• Knowledge of current trends and challenges in higher education, including workforce development, online learning, and student mental health.

• Familiarity with data analytics and reporting in enrollment management and student affairs, including key performance indicators (KPIs) for recruitment, retention, and student outcomes.
  Understanding of strategic enrollment management (SEM) principles and the ability to develop and implement comprehensive SEM plans.

• Knowledge of budget management and financial planning within a higher education setting.

• Awareness of best practices in utilizing technology and student information systems (SIS) to enhance student services and enrollment processes.

• Understanding of marketing and communication strategies effective for community college student populations.

• Knowledge of student conduct policies, legal frameworks, and due process in student affairs.

• Ability to facilitate cooperation through discussion and consensus building; analyze problems, identify alternate solutions, project consequences and proposed actions, synthesize information and implement recommendations in support of organizational goals.

• Identify and respond succinctly and professionally to public, senior level administrative and Board of Trustees issues and concerns with college-wide impact.

• Ability to provide leadership to implement institutional and divisional goals and strategic priorities.

• Highly effective communication orally and in writing.

• Ability to establish cooperative working relationships while performing assigned duties.

• Proficiency in Spanish or other languages.

• Utilize robust data analytics and reporting to inform strategic decision-making across enrollment, financial aid, student support services, and co-curricular programs, ensuring data-backed strategies drive continuous improvement and goal attainment.

• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for all areas of responsibility, leveraging data to track progress, identify trends, and implement evidence-based interventions to optimize enrollment yields, retention rates, and student satisfaction.

• Cultivate and strengthen strategic relationships with community leaders and independent school district (ISD) administrators through proactive engagement to expand participation in Dual Credit and Promise programs, thereby increasing enrollment and enhancing the institution’s community impact.

• Supervises employees to include prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff are trained; and making hiring, termination and disciplinary recommendations.

• Creates and maintains relationships with outside agencies for effective program development and implementation.

• Provides leadership in securing alternative funding and maximizing existing resources.

• Provides primary leadership in performing needs assessments, developing strategic objectives and carrying out college policies and procedures.

• Manages and coordinates across campus and community functions.

• Represents the college on statewide and local committees and boards.

• Oversees the preparation of board, progress, task force and committee reports as well as presentational materials for meetings and events.

• Develops and approves the organizational budget and expenditures.

• Performs other duties of a similar nature or level as assigned by the College leadership.
